Ever the utility player, Roberto has been faced with criticism on many an occasion, but he has continued to stand by his love forBarcelona, willing to help the club out in times of immense financial difficulty.
In an interviewRAC1, the Spaniard discussed the club’s current Ԁєɑłings, issuing an update on their wellness, touching upon some transfer speculation and talking about the honour of being the leader of a very young and talented side.
On the team’s health:”We couldn’t play the game vs. Juventus because we didn’t have enough players. Half the team had a stomach ache and they had a very hard night. Now we’re all available.”
On youngsters that haveimpressed him:”I was surprised by Lamine Yamal because he is a different player from all the others.Fermin Lopez also stands outfor his quality.”
On the salary situation:”My situation hasn’t changed, but I don’t think about it. I’m very lucky to be at the club of my life. There were difficult moments and this shows the respect I have for the club, otherwise I wouldn’t have lasted.”
On being named captain:”Being the first captain is a responsibility, but I take it with great desire and with great pride.”
On Messi’s return saga:”Everyone was excited for Messi’s return.I would have liked to play with Leo again. To have given him the farewell he deserved and for him to return home was the story that everyone wanted. It was tried, but it wasn’t meant to be.”
On Mbappe rumours:”I don’t know if it is feasible for him to come. I don’t know what happens to the players who are not here, but we want the best players. It is clear that if he could come, he would be welcome.”
