Arsenal transfer news: Jurrien Timber completed his £34.2million move to the Gunners on Friday to become Mikel Arteta’s second summer signing.

Jurrien Timber’s transfer to Arsenal has gone done very well at Emirates Stadium, but the same certainly cannot be said at Ajax.

The Gunners confirmed Timber as their second summer signing on Friday in an initial Ԁєɑł worth £34.2million which could rise to £38.5million in add-ons.

In his first full interview after sealing a move to Emirates Stadium, he said: “I really had a sense that it to be a team that plays in the right way. A club that has the right values. That develops young talent and has an unbreakable bond with its supporters. Now that I’m here I feel at home already. Something special is happening here and I want to be a part of it.”

The Netherlands international looks set to add needed depth to Arteta’s defensive ranks, with the player himself confirming his versatility and conversations about his favoured position with the Arsenal boss.

“For me it doesn’t really matter, I think that I’m lucky to say that I can play as a central defєɴԀer, as a right full-back, sometimes even on the midfield. So I think that’s a good thing and I need to keep that,” he toldArsenal’s club media.

“He (Arteta) said the same thing so we are on the same page. “I spoke to him a couple of times before I came here obviously and we had some good conversations.” However, there does not appear to many positive chats back at Timber’s former club involving Ajax star Dusan Tadic.

Dutch paperADare ɾєρօɾτing he is refusing to ɾєρօɾτ for training as a result of Timber’s exit. Ajax have claimed that the 34-year-old’s absence is due to ‘private ɾєɑȿօɴs’, but he has held talks with technical director Sven Mislintat since returning from international duty.

The former Southampton man is said to be particularly disappointed by Ajax’s decision to sell numerous defeners in recent years. Noussair Mazraoui, Daley Blind and Lisandro Martínez have all departed in the past few windows with Timber now joining the latter in the Premier League.
