The Gunners are one of the busiest English teams in the transfer market as they look to strengthen their squad significantly to challenge Manchester City for the Premier League title.

Having identified the midfield as an area that requires more reinforcements, Mikel Arteta’s side are working around the clock to bolster their options in the middle of the park.

Havertz is naturally a forward, but the German’s ability to feature in a variety of positions across the pitch makes him a high-value target for the Gunners.

The 24-year-old can play as a striker, but withArsenalwell-stocked in the striking department following the return of Folarin Balogun, Havertz is expected to join Martin Odegaard in midfield as part of Arteta’s double-eight system.

It is understood thatHavertz’s move to Arsenal is a done Ԁєɑł, having agreed a long-term contract with the North Londoners worth a minimum of £210,000 per week.

The Ԁєɑł is all but finalised, withArsenalexpected to fork out around £65m for his signature, and only the final details are missing before an official announcement is made.

Meanwhile,Arsenalare also expected to table a third bid for Rice as they ramp up their efforts to sign the West Ham captain with a new threat to the Ԁєɑł rearing its head.

Having seen two bids rєjєƈτed, the last of whichwas worth £90mcomprising a £75m base fee supplemented by £15m in add-ons, the Gunners will try again amid ɾєρօɾτs that Man City have joined the race for Rice.

West Ham know Rice will not remain at East London beyond this summer, but they are not prepared to budge on their asking price.

They want a minimum of £100m to part ways with the highly sought-after defensive midfielder, but that has not deterred last season’s runners-up, who are determined to land their primary target.
