Arsenal transfer news: Kieran Tierney has been linked with an exit from Arsenal this summer, with Newcastle and Celtic amongst the teams rumoured with interest.

The Scotland international continues to be linked with a potential exit over the transfer window, following on from a change in role at the club. Tierney was often relied upon as a key starter within the team, with the left-back offering drive and attacking intent from left-back.
That all changed last summer though asMikel Artetareunited withOleksandr Zinchenko, who joined from Manchester City. The Ukrainian international muscled his way into the full-back spot, but did so with a drastically different skillset to his Scottish counterpart.
Zinchenko often focused on inverting during the build-up phase of play which would allow for him to join the midfield unit and sustain pressure against the opposition. His passing ability would allow for this role to suit him perfectly. but it is completely different to how Tierney plays.
The 26-year-old had attempted to play there at times, but on the whole, he was largely reduced to minutes in cup competitions last season. It has led to links with a potential exit, with plenty of teams rumoured with interest, from Newcastle and Aston Villa to former side Celtic.
While that may be the case, the current stance from Arsenal appears to be leaning towards a stay at the club unless a huge offer is made. That’s according to Fabrizio Romano, who delved into the current situation with the full-back in his column forCaughtOffside.
He said: “This story [Kieran Tierney] has gone a little quiet but it remains one to watch later in the window. It’s quiet now but it could change. Arsenal are not desperate to sell Tierney, but they’d just consider that option if an important bid arrives.”
It remains to be seen exactly how much could be determined an “important bid” for the Gunners and whether the player’s preference could swerve a move in either direction this summer.
