AsBarcelonastep up their efforts to sign Bernardo Silva from Manchester City,Javi Miguel of ASis ɾєρօɾτing that it could have an adverse effect on the Catalans’ pursuit of Joao Cancelo.

It is no secret thatBarçaare pushing to sign both Silva and Cancelo at the request of manager Xavi Hernandez before the transfer window closes.

Both players are understood to be willing to swap Manchester City forBarcelona, but there may be a chance that Silva’s move may єɴԀ up scuppering Cancelo’s.

Barcelona go all in for Silva

Over the past 24 hours, it has become abundantly clear thatBarcelonawill do everything in their power to try and sign Silva.

Javi Miguel states the same as well, claiming that the La Liga champions are going all in on the Portuguese international.

The 28-year-old star is Xavi’s priority target and theBlaugranaare already working on a proposalworth €65 million plus €10 million in variablesfor him.

On top of that, acontract offer worth €10-11 millionis also being drawn up.

There are no small numbers and by going ahead with this, the Catalan giants might see Cancelo slip away.

Cancelo Ԁєɑł collapsing?

It must be remembered that only yesterday ɾєρօɾτs claimed thatBarcelona and Cancelo had reached an agreementover personal terms. But the structure of the transfer is yet to be worked out with Man City.

The Premier League champions want to sell him permanently for a figure wortharound €50 millionwhereasBarcelonawould prefer a loan-to-buy Ԁєɑł.

Even on loan, the Cityzens could command a significant fee while the player’s salary would also pose a challenge.

And by investing heavily in Silva, the La Liga champions might not be left with much room to fit Cancelo on their books while staying compliant with the Financial Fair Play rules.

As such, there is a danger of that move collapsing withBarcelonagoing all in on Silva. In that scenario, the Catalans might have to settle for Real Valladolid’s Ivan Fresneda.
