Brentford shot-stopper David Raya is said to have attracted interest from Arsenal during the summer transfer window.
Brentford goalkeeper David Raya is the latest player to be linked with a summer transfer toArsenal.
The north Londoners have already spent in excess of £200million to recruitDeclan Rice, Kai Havertz and Jurrien Timber during the summer window, although Mikel Arteta’s side don’t appear to be finished with their spєɴԀing just yet. According toThe Athletic, the Gunners are keen on signing a new ‘keeper to compete with current no.1 Aaron Ramsdale.
The Bees are yet to receive an offer forRaya, with the likes ofTottenham Hotspur, Chelseaand Bayern Munich all recently mooted as other potential destinations for the player. But Arsenal may have a clear advantage in the race to sign the Spanish international due to their current goalkeeper coach Inaki Cana.
Cana arrived at the Emirates Stadium in 2019, having previously been on the books at Brentford. In fact, the 47-year-old was instrumental in Raya joining the west London club from Blackburn back in 2019.
The pair’s relationship could very well be one of the ɾєɑȿօɴs the talented shot-stopper is said to prefer a move to the Gunners over Bayern. Writing on Twitter, transfer guru Fabrizio Romano said: “David Raya prefers Arsenal move over Bayern.
“Ԁєɑł depєɴԀs on clubs now but Arsenal expected to bid soon in order to accelerate talks. #AFC Negotiations with Bayern are currently off after loan offered in the morning — not what player/Brentford wanted.”
