Man Utd were considering making an offer forArsenalstrikerFolarin Balogunbefore they decided to pursue Rasmus Hojlund, according to ɾєρօɾτs.
Balogun made a huge impact during his season-long loan at Ligue 1 clubReimswith the USA international bagging 22 goals in 39 appearances in all competitions.
That has led to interest in his signature from all over Europe withArsenalɾєρօɾτedly prepared to sell if they get a bid of £50m or more.
Inter Milan seem to be the main club pushing ahead with their interest in Balogun with a ɾєρօɾτ in Italy today insisting they have hada bid of €40m (£34m) rєjєƈτed by Arsenal.
He was linked to Chelsea earlier in the month, while Inter’s arch-rivals AC Milan are also interested in the 22-year-old and could spark a bidding war between the two Serie A giants.
AndThe IndepєɴԀentnow claims that Man Utd boss Erik ten Hag was also interested at one point with Arsenal’s Premier League rivals considering a bid earlier in the window.
However, that all changed once they settled on Atalanta’s Hojlund as their top striker target for the summer transfer window with the Red Devils bidding for the striker.
On Friday Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla insisted that Man Utd would make their”final bid”for Hojlund “between Friday and Saturday”.
Amd although Fabrizio Romano didn’t say it would be their final bid, he did confirm that Man Utd are expected to make a “new attack” for Hojlund.
