Roy Keane reckonsManchester Unitedwill finish in the top-four this season but says it’s too early for Erik ten Hag’s side to mount a Premier League title challenge.

The Reds kick off their 2023/24 campaign against Wolves at Old Trafford tonight. Erik ten Hag is in charge for another campaign and he will be aiming to build on last season’s success, after єɴԀing United’s six-year wait for a trophy.

United fɑɴȿ will want to see a better start to the season than we managed in 2022/23 as United suffered defeats against Brighton and Brentford.

The new signings should help. Andre Onana replaces David de Gea, the addition of Mason Mount gives us something different in midfield and Rasmus Hojlund instantly becomes our main centre-forward due to a lack of options.

Despite starting slowly, Ten Hag led United to a third place finish to ensure our spot in the Champions League. That was the main objective last year. And, as a result, we want to show even more progress this term.

When asked if United could challenge City for the title, Keane replied on Sky Sports (viaManchester Evening News):”No, I don’t think so.

“I just think it’s so hard to see beyond Man City. Again, I’ve said before, unless they really drop off and get really bad injuries and lose that hunger, then I think the other teams have a chance.

“United will be top four, Arsenal have improved, look at Newcastle. Aston Villa will respond well to it (losing against Newcastle), obviously Liverpool and Chelsea, for a lot of them teams it’s about being top four and that’s the same for United.”

City got off to a winning start in the league on Friday night, while Chelsea and Liverpool drew 1-1 on Sunday.

Arsenal also picked up three points after their 2-1 win over Nottingham Forest.
