“They’ve bɾօυɢҺt in [Jude] Bellingham, they’ve bɾօυɢҺt in [Arda] Guler now. It leaves them with too many midfielders. So, you’re looking at well, who can go? It’s not going to be the players who’ve just agreed new contracts, it’s not going to be the players they’ve just bɾօυɢҺt in. You’re looking at players like [Aurelien] Tchouameni andFederico Valverde.”
Valverde’s Impressive Season In The Spanish Capital
Valverde enjoyed a decent campaign at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium as he put in a series of consistent displays forLos Blancosin the opponent’s half. The Uruguay international was involved in 56 matches for the Madrid giants last season, scoring 12 times and earning seven assists in all competitions.
The 24-year-old was a reliable performer in the final third based on his average of 1.9 shots, 1.3 key passes and 0.9 dribbles per game in La Liga football. He even distributed possession really well in the opposition half, as evidenced by his pass success rate of 88.4% in the top tier of Spanish football (stats viawhoscored).

Valverdeis full of energy and running in the final third. He can shoot the ball with power and accuracy from long range and has got the eye to set up a few decent plays for others around him. The Uruguayan sensation can even make a few driving runs with the ball on the attacking єɴԀ of the field. He mainly functions as a box-to-box midfielder but can also fill in as a right-sided wide player if needed.
Losing someone of Valverde’s skillset will no doubt be a big blow forReal MadridCarlo Ancelotti this summer. He has proven himself to be a valuable member of Los Blancos’ squad and would no doubt be a huge miss ifthe Madrid giantslet him go this summer.
