Gianluigi Buffon v Manchester United

Gianluigi Buffon played against Manchester United three times during his career.

The first of these came in 2003 in the Champions League when Manchester United won 3-0 away at Juventus, with goals from Ryan Giggs (2) and Ruud van Nistelrooy.

United then went up against him in 2019 in the Champions League again, over two legs with Paris Saint-Germain.

While Buffon’s PSG won the first leg with a clean sheet at Old Trafford, United secured a memorable turnaround in the second leg with a 3-1 win.

The big moment was Marcus Rashford’s ιɴjυɾу time penalty to win the tie on away goals, with the forward smashing his penalty past Buffon to clinch the tie.

According toCorriere dello Sport, Buffon rєjєƈτed a lucrative offer from the Saudi Pro League to prolong his career.
