Marcus Rashford has named the two weaknesses that he’d like to improve in his game, which are reminiscent of a young Cristiano Ronaldo.

Marcus Rashfordwas simply electric forManchester Unitedduring the 22/23 season. The 25-year-old scored 30 goals across all competitions and won United’s Player of the Year and Players of the Year awards.

He is arguablyErik ten Hag‘s most important player in thefirst-team squadand is well on his way to becoming a UnitedlegєɴԀ.

However, saying this – there’s always room for improvement. The England international thinks so too, with Rashford naming the two main weaknesses of his game at the moment.

Rashford names his two weaknesses

In an interview with ex-redGary NevilleforThe Overlap, Rashford spoke in-depth about his time at United thus far and the upcoming season.

The topic of his growth came up, and the pair discussed Rashford’s current weaknesses:

“Mine are left foot and heading,” Rashford Һօɴєȿτly assessed himself.

“I always want to work on them. I still feel like I should score more [headers] because I out-jump most people.”

This is true. A lot of people forget that Rashford is quite tall for a winger and should be dominating a lot more physically as he progresses with age.

Working on his weak foot is also essential to be a really world-class forward. The utilisation of both feet is one of the best skills in football to have. It means you can shift onto either foot and shoot, which constantly leaves defєɴԀers guessing.

Reminiscent of a young Cristiano Ronaldo…

These were exactly the two things that a youngCristiano Ronaldowas really missing, but he worked on his heading and weak foot so much and, well, the rest is history.

He had all the pace and trickery, but adding heading ability and a cracking weak foot propelled Ronaldo to the next level and maybe it could do the same for Rashford.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner became not just a dazzling winger, but completely adapted his game to become an out-and-out goalscorer.

Rashford is showing clear signs of this, with his best-ever season last year – so just imagine if he adds headers and weak-foot goals to his tally. He could become unstoppable.
