Manchester United are set to receive a £2.5 million windfall following their players’ exploits in the 2022 World Cup.

As well as this, United are set to receive £1 million as Tahith Chong edges closer to a move to Luton Town. There is also news of a £15-20 million bid for Swedish winger Anthony Elanga.

United to receive £2.5 million boost

An official ɾєρօɾτ fromFIFAhas listed all the clubs that have received money as a result of their players’ exploits in the Winter World Cup, held in Qatar.

According to the ɾєρօɾτ,Unitedwill receive £2.5 million as a part of FIFA’s club benefit programme.

An official FIFA ȿτɑτємєɴτ read: “As part of its commitment to recognise the contribution that football clubs make to the successful staging of the World Cup, today FIFA started the application process for its Club Benefits Programme that will see USD 209 million (£159 million) distributed to clubs across the world.”

All clubs that a player has played for in the past two seasons will be compensated as part of the scheme.

Chong’s impєɴԀing move to Luton Town set to benefit United

Former United academy player, Tahith Chong is set to move to Luton Town. The recently promoted side areɾєρօɾτedlyset to sign the Dutch winger from Birmingham City for £4 million.

As part of United’s original agreement to sell the winger to Birmingham, according toThe Athletic, they inserted a 25% sell-on clause in the Ԁєɑł, which will land United £1 million from the Ԁєɑł.

The winger never really made an impact at United, despite doing so well in the under-23s, and will now move to Luton where he will experience Premier League football on a regular basis, something he never did at United.

£15-20m bid made for Elanga

According to theBBC,Evertonhave made a £15-20m offer for Swedish winger Anthony Elanga. The 21-year-old has seen his chances in the United first team limited as a result of United’s purchase of Brazilian Antony and the emergence of Argentine winger, Alejandro Garnacho.

The ɾєρօɾτ claims that Everton are unsure whether they are willing to meet United’s valuation of the winger, but there is interest from Germany which could raise the price further.
