Manchester United are now considering a move for goalkeeper Andre Onana, according toThe Athletic.

It is believed that Chelsea have also had talks with the 27-year-old, but one ɾєρօɾτ this week suggested thatOnana would prefer a move to United. However, one slight problem exists with Inter demanding up to £70m as a transfer fee for the keeper.

Erik ten Hag knows Onana from his time at Ajax, where the Cameroon international first caught the eye with his exceptional passing range and willingness to come off his line. The manager needs a keeper who is naturally suited to playing out from the back, whereas this is an area of weakness for De Gea.

The Athletic also explains that if De Gea stays it is expectedthat United would look to sign a young back-up keeper, who could develop at the club.

That’s where Anderlecht’sVerbruggen could emerge as a serious targetbut Burnley and Brighton are interested in the 20-year-old.
