Manchester United board push back Ten Hag’s call to sign Harry Kane

Erik ten Hag wants to sign an elite striker this summer and it is believed that Tottenham skipper Harry Kane was at the very top of his wish list.

But a new ɾєρօɾτ suggests not everyone at Manchester United felt the same way about signing Kane, which has led to the club abandoning a move for the 29-year-old.

According toThe Athletic, some members of the United hierarchy are not sure about signing Kane. He turns 30 next month and is entering the final year of his contract, but it will still take a huge transfer fee to sign him.

The sort of fee that would blow away our transfer budget.

Ten Hag has around £120million to spєɴԀ on new players and Tottenham want over £100m for Kane. United always knew that Ԁєɑłing with Spurs would be tricky this summer.

Whilst signing a centre-forward remains a priority, it looks like United are stepping away from Kane to focus on alternative options in the transfer window.

United have one senior recognised striker in Anthony Martial, who Ten Hag cannot rely on anymore due to injuries. Marcus Rashford is rightly played on the left flank but had to play centrally on several occasions last season due to the manager’s lack of options up front.
