Manchester United midfielderScott McTominay is likely to be made available for sale in the January transfer window according to ɾєρօɾτs.
The Red Devils did try to offload the Scottish midfielder in the summer, but no Ԁєɑłs could be agreed upon. Bayern Munich were linked with the 26-year-old before trying their luck with alternative targets.
Fulham also tried to signMcTominay to replaceJoao Palhinha who was set to sign for Bayern Munich before the Premier League club pulled the Ԁєɑł.
Fabrizio Romano clarified the situation on deadline day withMcTominay: “From what I’m told, Fulham also spoke to the Manchester United midfielder, but he said no to Fulham.”
Despite the 26-year-old turning down a summer exit, it seems as if Man Utd will try to offload the midfielder once again in January.
A ɾєρօɾτ from theEvening Standardhas claimed that McTominay will ‘likely’ be available for a move come the January window.
The Scottish midfielder has only played seven minutes of Premier League football this season. Casemiro is firmly ahead of him in the pecking order andSofyan Amrabat will likely jump above him too.
McTominay is under contract with the club until 2025 with the option of a further year. Along with Fulham,West Ham also tried to sign the midfielder but were unsuccessful.
If he isn’t handed many opportunities in the first half of the season it would make sense forMcTominay to move on in January in search of a fresh challenge.
When asked aboutMcTominay and Harry Maguire, Erik ten Hag insisted that they will both be handed some opportunities to play.
“If you see the schedule, it’s tough, it’s really condensed, when you see last season, the World Cup, the season takes longer. Two weeks, we played FA Cup final one week, we had a short break, a condensed pre-season, you need the numbers and quality,” Ten Hag told ɾєρօɾτers.
“We have the depth and the quality players in, they (Maguire, McTominay) can play in a variety of situations and we are ready to go for the fight.”
