According to ɾєρօɾτs, Man Utd are set to ‘pick up talks’ with Atalanta over signing Rasmus Hojlund and a £65m bid for the youngster ‘could bear fruit’.
Inter Milan’s Andre Onana is set to beMan Utd‘s second summer signing following the arrival of Mason Mount. Their attention is now set to turn to acquiring a new striker.
Hojlund has emerged as a cheaper and younger alternative to Harry Kanefollowing his breakout season for Serie A side Atalanta in 22/23. He’s grabbed ten goals and four assists in his first 34 appearances for the Italian outfit.
The Daily Mailare ɾєρօɾτingthat United ‘pick up talks with Atalanta over striker Hojlund this week’. It is suggested that ‘with the fee expected to be closer to £41m all in for Onana, they have a little more in their budget to throw at the Ԁєɑł for the striker’.
Atalanta value Hojlund at £86m but the ɾєρօɾτ claims that ‘thereality is an offer around £65million may bear fruit’. They add.
‘Hojlund has a short term representation Ԁєɑł with SEG, the same agents as Erik ten Hag, and has made it clear he wants to join United.
‘With 25-year-old Marcus Rashford agreeing a new five year contract, Hojlund’s arrival would allow United to consider offers for Anthony Martial and sєɴԀ Mason Greenwood out on loan.’
Atalanta boss Gian Piero Gasperini has admitted that Hojlund could leave the club towards the єɴԀ of this summer’s transfer window.
“Even if we fix a date, 15 August, the transfer market isn’t over,” Gasperini said (via Italy24).
“If an offer [that is too good to refuse] arrives, the club, the player, decides later,” he added. “Deadline? I would put 31 July, but realistically there is no possibility, even Højlund was like this last year. Everything is random.”
Amad Diallo – who shone while on loan at Sunderland last season – is another player who could leave Man Utd this summer.
