Man Utd player receives ‘irresistible’ offer to leave and Ten Hag ‘sounds out’ £50m replacement

According to ɾєρօɾτs, Man Utd and David De Gea – who is out of contract later this month – are ‘yet to find an agreement’ over a new Ԁєɑł.

De Gea was once considered to be one of the best goalkeepers in the world but he has been heavily criticised over the past few years.Erik ten Hag insists on playing out from the back and the Spain international often struggles with the ball at his feet.

He currently earns around £375,000 a week. United have the option to automatically extєɴԀ his Ԁєɑł on the same terms until 2024, but they instead want De Gea to accept a pay cut.

It was claimed last month thatDe Gea has ‘agreed’ a new contractbutThe Athleticare now ɾєρօɾτing that the two parties are ‘still considering their respective options’.

A ‘resolution is yet to be found’ even though ‘discussions between the two parties are still ongoing’.

The Red Devils reckon they are in a strong position as they ‘have sufficient options to replace De Gea’ if necessary.Inter Milan’s Andre Onana ‘has been discussed internally and United are considering a move’ for him.

The ɾєρօɾτ adds: ‘Erik ten Hag worked with Onana at Ajax and is an admirer of the Cameroonian’s excellent passing range and confidence with the ball at his feet.

‘Ten Hag would prefer his goalkeeper to be naturally suited to playing out from the back, something that De Gea has struggled to do.’

The Daily Mailare ɾєρօɾτing that Ten Hag has ‘sounded out’ Onanaas they ‘continue to await a final decision on De Gea’s future’.

Onana is described as a ‘leading contєɴԀer’ if they ‘go down the route’ of ‘buying a new number one’. The ɾєρօɾτ later adds.

‘Inter want around £50m for Onana but United need to make their budget go far and the final price the Italians settle on will also influence any move for the Cameroon goalkeeper along with De Gea’s situation.’

Earlier this week, it was claimed thatDe Gea has received an ‘irresistible offer’ from Saudi Arabia, but United coach Benni McCarthy thinks it would be a “crime” if they let him leave.

“You see how difficult the league is so I understand that everyone has a bad game here and there, but it doesn’t stop him from being one of the best goalkeepers I’ve seen and I’ve worked with. He is unbelievable,”McCarthy told 947 Joburg.

“But I get to spєɴԀ every single day with him and he is an unbelievable guy, a great lad, very intelligent and one of the best goalkeepers I have seen. It would be a crime if Man United lose a goalkeeper like David de Gea.”
