Mаn ᴜtd now rаіѕe offer to £43.2mіllіon to ѕіgn ѕtаr

Manchester United only unveiled Denmark international Rasmus Hojlund as their new signing at Old Trafford on Saturday. Now, they’ve purportedly made an offer for his fellow countryman, Andreas Christensen.

While not considered a priority area of concern, the club’s hierarchy has been in the market for a new centre-back. Now that they’ve sealed a crucial Ԁєɑł for a new striker for Erik ten Hag, ɾєρօɾτs in Spain suggest United are stepping up their efforts to strengthen their backline.

As per Catalan source,Nacional, United have returned to the race for Christensen’s signature. The suggestion of a ‘return’ comes from the same publication, whichclaimedthe Red Devils submitted a 40 million euros (£34 million) offer for the Dane in June.

Now they say that the Premier League giants have raised their offer to 50 million euros (£43.2m), a figure that might tempt Barca president Joan Laporta into considering the former Chelsea man’s exit despite his impressive showings under Xavi last term.

However, it’s added that United would’ve to change the terms of their total package to seal the Ԁєɑł for Christensen. The English side’s current offer includes a commitment of a fixed payment of 35 million euros (£30.27m) plus 15 million euros (£12.97m) in add-ons. The Catalan outfit want all of 50 million euros (£43.2m) upfront.

Such a figure, combined with Franck Kessié’s sale to Al-Ahli Saudi FC, would help the Blaugrana in their pursuit of Manchester City stars Joao Cancelo and Bernardo Silva.

Christensen is a quality defєɴԀer, who’s comfortable with the ball and resilient without it. Moreover, the right-footed centre-back’s ability to comfortably slot in both positions at the heart of defence makes him an incredible squad depth option.

The Barcelona man has so far shown no public desire to depart Camp Nou, but the presence of his international teammates, Christian Eriksen and Hojlund, might help United present a tempting case to make a return to the Premier League.
