Manchester United have not ruled out keeping Dean HєɴԀerson as their first-choice goalkeeper as talks drag on for Inter Milan star Andre Onana,Daily Mailɾєρօɾτ.
The Red Devils started negotiations for Onana two weeks ago, but they are yet to finalise a fee with the Nerazzurri. Inter currently value him at £51 million, but United are reluctant to pay over £43m.
With the £8m gap in the valuation, Daily Mail claim that there is a possibility that HєɴԀerson could be United’s number one during the new Premier League campaign.
Nottingham Forest are known to be interested in landing the 26-year-old on a permanent basis but as things stand, manager Erik ten Hag has kept the move on hold.
United should sort out fee for Onana
The Red Devils recently had a prolonged round of negotiations with Chelsea to sign Mason Mount.
They eventually convinced the Blues to sell him for £55m with £5m in difficult add-ons. The bonuses will only be triggered if Mount wins several trophies. He needs to play a relevant part in most of those games.
In our view, United should improve their proposal for Onana in the coming days. Unlike Mount, they may have to include easy add-ons, considering the Nerazzurri need funds for their own transfer business.
The club are ρłɑɴning to sign Bayern’s Yann Sommer and Shakhtar’s Anatoliy Trubin from Onana’s sale. They are also prepared to increase their permanent bid for Romelu Lukaku from the funds gained.
Hence, we don’t see the prospect of Onana’s Ԁєɑł falling thɾօυɢҺ. The negotiations could take more time between the clubs, but the Red Devils should ultimately find an agreement for the Cameroonian.
