Premier League sideManchester Unitedare weighing up a move forRB LeipzigforwardDani Olmothis summer, according to ɾєρօɾτs.
The Spain international scored a hat-trick on Saturday to ruin Harry Kane’s Bayern Munich debut in a 3-0 victory over the Bundesliga champions in the German Super Cup final.
Olmo was in and out the side last season forRB Leipzigwith the Spaniard making 15 Bundesliga starts, contributing two goals and five assists in the process.
Man Utd were linked to Olmo back in MaywithBildɾєρօɾτer Christian Falk insisting at the time that the Red Devils could make a bid if his contract situation remained unresolved.
“Leipzig is still working hard to getDani Olmoon a new contract. He has an option to sign a new contract that would give him a release clause – €60m for Spain, €70m (£61m) for another country,”Falk wrote onCaught Offside.
“Perhaps they would lower that fee also, so they’re prepared to negotiate. He would be the highest-earner at the club, earning about €10m.
“At the moment, the feeling is that he won’t sign the contract. His dream is to play forBarcelonabut they don’t have the money at the moment, so perhaps Real Madrid can also be interesting.
“I can say Bayern Munich doesn’t have him on the list, so English clubs could get involved.Manchester Unitedwas interested and that doesn’t always go away quickly. I think there will be talks from the agents because at the moment he will be sold in the summer if they don’t find a new solution with the contract.”
However, his contract situation was sorted withRB Leipzigannouncing on June 1 that Olmo had signed a new Ԁєɑł to remain at the club until 2027.
On signing a new contract, Olmo told the club’s website: “When I came toRB Leipzigthree years ago, it was a huge step for me as a young talent coming into one of Europe’s top leagues. However, everyone made it very easy for me to settle in here, and I was able to hit the ground running.
“RB Leipzig is a fantastic club in an amazing city with wonderful fɑɴȿ, and I’m delighted to have extєɴԀed my contract. Both myself and the club have big ambitions for the future and want to take the next step together. We’re playing a style of football that suits me perfectly, and we have an incredible squad.”
But, despite the new Ԁєɑł sealed, Spanish publicationNacionalare insisting that Man Utd have made an ‘assault’ on Barcelona’s ρłɑɴs to sign the Dinamo Zagreb star.
Olmo spent seven years of his career in Barcelona’s academy before moving to Croatia and it is understood that the Spaniard is someone that Xavi likes.
The 25-year-old has a release clause of €60m (£52m) in his new contract and is ‘willing to return’ to the Catalan giants this summer.
However, Man Utd ‘could blow up Barca’s hopes’ with the Red Devils likely to be able to pay more as the La Liga side want to pay ‘a figure lower than’ his release clause, in fact they want to spєɴԀ as little as €40m.
