The incredible 70th-anniversary carnival from the house ofPaneraicontinues, as it celebrates seven decades of the Luminor watch, but this time, it’s another famed series from the watchmaker that receives alimited-editionavatar. The Submersible will now be fitted with aTourbillonand ship in just five exclusive pieces, thanks to a collaboration with explorer and adventurer, Mike Horn. Owners will also enjoy the exclusive privilege of setting off on an Arctic expedition with Horn.
While the trip to the Arctic with one of the world’s most famous explorer sounds exotic, the idea is to showcase the danger that this region faces. And so, to walk the talk, Panerai has put in serious thought and effort into the design of the watch. The EcoPangea steel is recycled from the 35-meter drive shaft of Mike Horn’s famed ship, the Pangea and is employed in the construction of the case.
This Submersible is fitted with Panerai’s in-house calibre P.2005/T and offers an impressive 6-day power reserve, 300-meter water resistance, and GMT functionality. All of this, to prove its mettle during the Arctic expedition. The 30-second tourbillon rotates along a perpєɴԀicular axis.
What really catches the eye are the Arctic Blue highlights, especially on the case back, which showcases the Pangea and Mike Horn’s signature. The highlights also extєɴԀ to the markers, the hands and the sundial. This is a boutique-exclusive piece and will come in a special display box that offers a special tool to change the straps and screwdriver that can be used to remove the buckle.
The lucky five individuals who will own the five limited pieces will truly enjoy the functionality of the Mike Horn Submersible, while gathering insights and memories from a guided adventure with one of the very best.
