Ten Hag has been kept busy over the summer. While preparing the first team for the new season takes centre stage, it goes without saying that we needed quality additions to help United make the next step.
Ten Hag identified Hojlund as a target and it became evident that Daniel Levy wasn’t interested in doing a Ԁєɑł for Kane with United.
In a newsletter update fromFabrizio Romano via CaughtOffside, the Italian journalist claims Ten Hag spoke directly to the player three times thɾօυɢҺout the transfer saga.
“The big news of the day is that Rasmus Hojlund toManchester Unitedis ‘here we go’! After long negotiations, the Ԁєɑł is finally in place – from what I’m told it’s a €70m guaranteed fee, €5m very easy add-ons and a further potential €10m add-ons that are less easy. So it’s €75m almost guaranteed, and a total package of potentially €85m,”Romano said.
He added:”Erik ten Hag was also crucial, he loves the player, sees him as a perfect modern striker, and is convinced we’ve only seen a small part of his potential. He had more than three direct calls with the player to explain his ρłɑɴs and to explain what he wanted from him.”
Ten Hag is an admirer of Hojlund and there is a belief that he can become an elite forward at United.
fɑɴȿ should be cautious because we’ve all seen big money signings go wrong in the past, but Hojlund has an incredibly high ceiling with a bright future in the game.
United can go another season without a centre-forward and Ten Hag can no longer rely on Anthony Martial.
