Even though the summer transfer window is not yet open in Spain,Barcelonahave pretty much completed their first signing in the form of Mikayil Faye. The 18-year-old centre-back will be arriving from Croatian club NK Kustosija.
Just 18 years of age, Faye has caught the eye of several top clubs across Europe, including the likes of Chelsea and Borussia Dortmund. However,Barcelonahave pretty much secured his signing, with the teenager completing his medicals with the Catalans earlier this week.
Fabrizio Romanohas now come out with more details on Faye’s transfer toBarça. As per the Italian transfer expert, the 18-year-old signed with the La Liga champions on Wednesday.
And embedded in his contract withBarcelonais a massive release clause worth €400 million, indicating that the Catalan giants rate the young defensive starlet very highly.
Furthermore, Romano adds that Faye will be doing the initial part of the pre-season with the first team as manager Xavi Hernandez wishes to get a close look at the 18-year-old and observe him from close quarters.
It had been previously ɾєρօɾτed thatBarcelona would be paying around €5 million for Faye’s signing. However, ɾєρօɾτs in Spain deny that valuation and are instead claiming that the La Liga champions would be shelling out just a little over €1 million for the 18-year-old.
TheBlaugranahave focused on signing young talents with immense potential in recent transfer windows and the strategy seems to continue this summer as well, as apart from Faye, they also wish to signtalented teenagers like Vitor Roqueand Arda Guler.
