Pablo Torre was presented by Girona as their new summer signing following his loan move fromBarcelonaearlier this summer.
The 20-year-old midfielder, who signed forBarcelonafrom Racing Santander for a fee of €5 million plus variables last year,has been sent to the fellow La Liga teamto gain important minutes before he returns to the team next year.
The youngster was presented to the press where he shed light on several aspects, including his recent ιɴjυɾу, his first season atBarcelona, and personal goals among others.
The 20-year-old played just 13 games in all competitions last season. While speaking about his limited time, he added that he wants to succeed atBarcelonaand he will give his best in the upcoming season to come good.
“A player always wants to play and I didn’t have a very good time either. I try to come here with theutmost enthusiasm,”he insisted, as quoted byMundo Deportivo.
“In the short term, obviously, I think about Girona. Logically, I also think about succeeding atBarçabut now I just want to do well here and enjoy myself with my teammates.”
Torre has already featured for Girona in pre-season, but merely 10 minutes into the game against Blackburn Rovers, the young midfielder was forced offafter suffering a knee ιɴjυɾу. While speaking about it, he said,
“It was a knock. I’ve pulled my hamstring but I’ll only be out for a few days and I think I’ll be able to train with my teammates tomorrow,”he said.
It is believed that Torre’s loan move to Girona was a part of Oriol Romeu’s permanent transfer toBarcelona. The midfielder, however, said his arrival has nothing to do with the other transfer.
“The operation has been done by other parties. I wanted to come here and I think it was done by another side, at least as far as I know,”he insisted.
Speaking about his new team, he said that he has always liked their style of play and that he ɾєɑłłу wɑɴτєԀ to join them this summer.
“A team like Girona always likes them because they play well and always face the goal. I had fun. I really like the style of play and it can help me grow. I ɾєɑłłу wɑɴτєԀ to come here,”he explained.
When asked about his preferred position, he said,”I see myself in the midfielder, going down inside or from the band in. Anyway, I’ll play where the coach puts me.”
Torre will aim to gain as much playing time as possible next season and he explained that the objective is to contribute individually and collectively.
“Personally, I’m going to try to play as many minutes as possible and I want to help Girona achieve everything we want. We have to go game by game, without thinking about big things and, if the results are good, we’ll think about other things,”he concluded.
