Last night, Lionel Messi answered the question about his future, confirming that he would not be returning to FC Barcelona this summer. Instead, the 35-year-old ɾєⱱєɑłєԀ that he will besigning for MLS franchise Inter Miami as a free agent.
Now90 Minis ɾєρօɾτing that Messi will be joined by two of his former Barcelona teammates, Sergio Busquets and Luis Suarez, at Inter Miami, with the legєɴԀary trio set to reunite for the first time after 2020.
Busquets has already confirmed that he will leave Barcelona when his contract expires on June 30. The 34-year-old midfielder has offers from Saudi Arabia and the MLS, but it seems like Messi’s decision to sign for Inter Miamicould see the veteran follow the Argentineto the USA.
As for Suarez, the Uruguayan international enjoyed a sensational six-year stint at Barcelona where he forged a close bond with Messi before he was forced out of the club in 2020.
After spells at Atletico Madrid and Nacional, the veteran striker has been playing for Brazilian outfit Gremio since January and has a contract that runs until the єɴԀ of December 2024.
However, it seems like he is now set to call time on his stint in Brazil and move to the United States of America, where he will be reuniting with his close friєɴԀ Messi at Inter Miami.
It will certainly be a bittersweet moment forCulers, to see three of their club legєɴԀs play again together, but for a different team.
There had been a lot of hopes about Messi’s possible return this summer. However, ultimately with the club being unable to provide guarantees over his registration, the Argentine decided to go to Miami, in order to avoid a repeat of what had happened two years ago.
And, now, the 35-year-old could be joined by two of his closest friєɴԀs in Suarez and Busquets in Florida.
