It is rare for a contracted player in the world of football to openly come out and acknowledge their desire to defєɴԀ another crest.

That, however, has not stopped Atletico Madrid’s Joao Felix from talking about his desire to sign forBarcelona. As ɾєⱱєɑłєԀ by the ever-reliableFabrizio Romano, the Portuguese prodigy recently gave an open ȿτɑτємєɴτ regarding the same.

“I would love to play forBarça.Barcelonahas always been my first choice and I would love to join them.”

He went on to call theBlaugranahis ‘dream’ club and said it was something he had hoped would materialise for a long time.

“It was always my dream since I was a kid. If it happens, it will be a dream come true for me.”

Atletico Madrid and Felix have been at open war in recent weeks after the youngster’s return from his loan spell at Chelsea.Los Rojiblancosstripped him of the No. 7 jersey earlier this summer and even asked him to train with the youth team in recent weeks.

With a move to Chelsea looking unlikely and his relationship with Diego Simeone almost non-existent, the Portuguese’s future is up in the air. He has several suitors at his doorstep but would prefer a move to his dream clubBarcelona.

Given that theBlaugranahave held a long-standing interest in the versatile attacker, there is a chance that they might act on Felix’s come-and-get-me plea, as long as the move would fit into their current economic situation.

Felix made 16 Premier League appearances at Stamford Bridge last season, scoring four goals in the process. Yet, it is fair to say that his spell with the English giants was largely underwhelming.
