Arsenal are ɾєρօɾτedly interested in signing Joao Cancelo from Manchester City, but there is currently a gap between what the Gunners are prepared to pay and what City want for the 29-year-old defєɴԀer.
Cancelo was loaned to Bayern Munich in the January transfer window and he scored once and provided four assists in the league there. However, he has returned to Manchester City this summer and Arsenal are keen to bring him to the Emirates Stadium.
The Gunners were in a fierce title race with Manchester City in a bid to win the 2022/23 Premier League title, but a defeat against Nottingham Forest in their 37th game week saw them lose the trophy to The Citizens. Despite leading the league table for 10 months this season, Arsenal had to settle for second place.
With Arsenal looking to strengthen their squad ahead of next season, Cancelo could be a valuable addition. The Portuguese international is known for his versatility as he can play as both a right-back and left-back. He is also an attacking threat as he likes to push forward and create chances for his teammates.
However, it remains to be seen whether Arsenal will be able to meet Manchester City’s asking price for Cancelo. The Gunners have been linked with several other players this summer, including Declan Rice from West Ham United.
