Arsenal have a number of first-team players who could be sold before the summer transfer window closes, allowing Mikel Arteta and Edu to secure a nice windfall.

With Arsenal’s tour of the United States now over, Mikel Arteta and Edu Gaspar can accelerate ρłɑɴs for the remainder of the summer transfer window.

While the Gunners have already splashed over £200million to sign Kai Havertz, Jurrien Timber and Declan Rice, they’ve also allowed a few senior players to leave. Ainsley Maitland-Niles departed on a free, Pablo Mari has joined Monza permanently and Granit Xhaka sealed a return to Germany by signing for Bayer Leverkusen.

Upon selling the latter pair, the north London outfit have managed to recoup £27.4million and this isalready more than that what they were able to make back last summer (£19million)when Alexandre Lacazette, Matteo GuєɴԀouzi, Hector Bellerin, Bernd Leno, Lucas Torreira and Konstantinos Mavropanos were the high-profile departures.

Now, with the transfer window open for another five weeks and more first-team players expected to depart, there’s a chance to raise even more cash via sales andfootball.londontakes a look at those who could still bid a permanent farewell to the Emirates Stadium before deadline day.

As Arteta has ruled out exits forThomas ParteyandKieran Tierneyit means Folarin Balogun isArsenal’smost sellable asset at the moment. An impressive 2022/23 campaign for Reims has seen his valuation skyrocket to £50million, according to ɾєρօɾτs, and several clubs across Europeincluding Internazionale are interested.

Unfortunately, the Gunners may not make a single penny back on Nicolas Pepe. The Ivorian was the club’s most expensive signing prior to the £105million Rice Ԁєɑł, butfootball.londonunderstands that ρłɑɴs have been made for the termination of his contract- which expires next summer – if required.

Where Edu could get some joy is by cashing in on Nuno Tavares. The left-back had a strong loan spell with Marseille last season and with two years left on his Arsenal contract, the club are in a strong negotiation position to demand his €30million (£25.6million) valuation, as perCIES Football Observatoryis met.

Albert Sambi Lokonga is another player who could command a decent fee as he’s shown signs that he can develop into a very good midfielder if given the right platform. Although, valued at €10million (£8.5million) means the Gunners risk taking a hit after paying £17million for his services two summers ago.

Admittedly, Arsenal won’t receive large fees forCedric Soares, Arthur Okonkwo, Auston Trusty or Runar Alex Runarsson. But if the quartet between them can go for around £10million that would take money raised from sales to £94.1million, which would represent very good business.

In addition to bolstering the squad in order to compete for the Premier League title again next season, making significant strides to improve the player sales reputation has also been a priority for Edu this summer and early signs suggest he is on course to complete that mission.
