Arsenal could reignite their interest in Barcelona winger Raphinha, according to Sky Sports’ Dharmesh Sheth. The Gunners attempted to sign the Brazilian in the summer of 2022 in a well-documented transfer saga.

London rivals Chelsea were also keen on signing him, but Raphinha eventually signed for Barcelona and played a starring role in their La Liga title win. However, it has been suggested that he could be used to raise funds this summer.

“I’ve just been told to keep an eye on the attacking side of the pitch, particularly on the right side as well,” Sheth said onSky Sports News on Tuesday.

“Remember a couple of summers ago they tried to sign Raphinha (last summer) – he єɴԀed up going to Barcelona. They’re also interested in Moussa Diaby from Bayer Leverkusen. I know Aston Villa have had a bid rєjєƈτed for him as well, so that may be an area just to keep an eye on.”

football.londonsays:After all their incredible work in the transfer market in the past 18 months, it’s surprising to see Arsenal pondering the possibility of signing Raphinha.

The winger has already turned the Gunners down, but 12 months later the opportunity could become available. Raphinha scored ten goals and assisted a further 12 for Barcelona last season, not the best output.

Valued at €60million ($67.3m) byCIES Football Observatory, the former Leeds United man would cost Edu Gaspar a lot of money. With starts not guaranteed due to Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli’s standing in the Arsenal squad, it’s hard to see why the club would approve a move at that price.

However, should the sales of Folarin Balogun, Nicolas Pepe, Rob Holding and Kieran Tierney be completed, the Gunners may decide a new wide attacking midfielder is the new priority.

Liverpool battle boost

Arsenal have ɾєρօɾτedly taken a huge step in their pursuit ofSouthampton midfielder Romeo Lavia.

The 19-year-old has continued to be linked with a move away from the Championship club for some time, with Liverpool and Chelsea expressing an interest.

According toBelgian outlet DH, the Gunners now have an upper hand and could ‘overtake’ their Premier League rivals. A move does, however, rely on Thomas Partey’s future.

football.londonsays:It now seems like a matter of time before Arsenal make their first move for Lavia. Partey is seemingly destined to leave the club to move to Saudi Arabia and Arteta will want to replace him.

At just 19, Lavia could be the perfect candidate to do so. However, the battle for his signature could prove to be a major stumbling block. Like Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea are desperate for a revamp of their midfield and Lavia looks set to be a player they pursue.

However, if the ɾєρօɾτs from Belgium are to be believed, the time could be edging closer for Edu to submit his first official move for the teenager to more-or-less complete the Gunners summer spєɴԀing.
