Ajax have agreed a £12million fee with MiddlesbɾօυɢҺ for striker Chuba Akpom who was alsowanted bySheffield Unitedand Lens.
The 27-year-old is due to travel to Holland for a medical on Monday.
A formerArsenalyouth player, Akpom joined Greek side PAOK in 2018, before moving back to the UK to join MiddlesbɾօυɢҺ in 2020.
He signed for Boro on a £2.75m Ԁєɑł, going on toscore 34 goals in 82 appearancesacross all competitions for the club.
Twenty-eight of those goals came in the Championshiplast season, with the England youth-grade strikerenjoying a prolific campaign.
Yet it appears he could be on his way out of the club, having not featured for Michael Carrick’s side during their pre-season friєɴԀlies or their opening league matches.
He was an unused substitute for Boro’s Championship opener against Millwall, which saw them lose 1-0 at the Riverside.
Lens had offered £8m for the forward in a bid to beat Sheffield United to his signature but Ajax are now set to now win the race to sign him.
It comes as MiddlesbɾօυɢҺ are closing on a £4m Ԁєɑł for Ivory Coast striker Emmanuel Latte Lath from Atalanta.
The 24-year-old, who graduated from the Serie A club’s youth academy, spent last season out on loan at FC St Gallen.
He went on to score 16 goals in 34 appearances across all competitions for the Swiss side.
The striker scored during Atalanta’s 3-1 pre-season win against Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium in July.
