More than threePremier Leagueteams and multiple European sides were interested in signing Hale єɴԀ academy graduate Nelson, whose previous Ԁєɑł expired on June 30.

It’s understood Nelson was close to joining Italian giants AC Milan before Arsenal made a counter proposal which included improved contract terms and bonuses.

However, Nelson was always keen on remaining at the club he’s been at from the age of eight, where he will be hoping for increased game time in the 2023/24 season.

“I’ve said a few times, I’ve been here since I was eight, and I’m 23 now, so I’ve been here a long time, and I’m Arsenal thɾօυɢҺ and thɾօυɢҺ,” said Nelson in January. “So, to be playing, even in games like this, I’m delighted. Of course, injuries are just a minor setback, but I look towards the future and hope that I can play many more years at the club.”

Meanwhile, William Saliba will sign a new contract with Arsenal imminently as he commits his long-term future to the club.

Saliba will sign a four-year contract, with an option for a further year, in a Ԁєɑł that will make him one of the highest earners at the club following an impressive debut Premier League campaign.

Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United, and Bayern Munich had all expressed interest in Saliba over the past few months. However, the centre back has chosen to remain inLondon, as he is happy at Emirates Stadium and his main priority was to extєɴԀ his stay in north London.

Sporting director Edu Gaspar, alongside Director of Football Operations Richard Garlick, is ensuring that Arsenal’s most valuable talents are tied to the club for several years.

Martin Odegaard is expected to receive a contract offer next, while Ben White, who still has two years left on his current Ԁєɑł, is likely to be rewarded later on.

It comes as Declan Rice and Jurrien Timber are both now expected to be officially unveiled as Arsenal players by the єɴԀ of the week.

Rice will join Arsenal for a fee of £105million while Dutch star Timber arrives in a Ԁєɑł worth almost £40million.
