Negotiating for Rasmus Hojlund
Finding an agreement with Atalanta is going to be tricky. This is a club who managed to get a substantial fee for Amad, who had barely featured for them – even if the fee was almost 50 per cent made up of add-ons.
To add to the complicated mix, Atalanta’s head of recruitment is Lee Congerton, who was at Leicester City when they sold Harry Maguire to Manchester United for £80 million. So they know, that despite the Red Devils’ new-found desire to find value, there is a big fee potentially available.
The Mailɾєρօɾτed this week that the fee could hit £65 million, which is actually less than some outlandish ɾєρօɾτs suggesting Atalanta want £80 million plus, which is a total no-go.
Atalanta want cash only and are not interested in a swap Ԁєɑł for Manchester United’s surplus players.
Hojlund desire could see Atalanta cash in
Atalanta CEO Luca Percassi did not rule out a sale of Rasmus Hojlund when quizzed last night.
He commented viaTMW, “The goal is to strengthen the team.”In the past we have also done this thɾօυɢҺ sales, everyone must be happy to be there.”
With Hojlund described as viewing Manchester United as his priority, and even agreeing personal terms, clearly he would be a little disappointed to stay.
This transfer has a real chance of happening, and United need it to. A striker is the main missing piece for United, Hojlund won’t be enough on his own, but he’s a great start.
