Everything looks fine and dandy forReal Madridas they have started the season with acomprehensive 2-0 winand boast a formidable squad, brimming with youth talent.
But there is a significant problem brewing under the surface at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Luka Modric unhappy at Real Madrid
According to a recent ɾєρօɾτ fromMundo Deportivo, not everyone is happy with the structural change going on atReal Madridat the moment.
It appears Luka Modric is currently unhappy with his role at the Bernabeu. Before the start of the season, the midfielder had penned a contract extension with the hopes of remaining a key component of the team.
However, Modric has hardly played a key role since. Even in pre-season, the Croat was not used much by coach Carlo Ancelotti.
The Italian mastermind has insteadput his faith in young gunssuch as Aurelien Tchouameni, Federico Valverde, Eduardo Camavinga, and new signing Jude Bellingham.
January exit possible for Modric
Ancelotti’s team selection for the season opener against Athletic Club was the breaking point for Modric.
The Croatian international was left out on the bench alongside Toni Kroos asReal Madridstarted with young players.
Modric was allowed to come on only for the final ten minutes of the game. It was a real blow for the veteran, who is now allegedly regretting his renewal at Bernabeu.
If the situation does not improve going forward, there is a possibility Modric could leave the Bernabeu in the winter transfer window.
Ancelotti, though, has recentlyassured both Kroos and Modricthat their situation could change week by week, hinting that he might look for more rotations as the season progresses.
