After introducing severalsuperhero-inspiredwatches and accessories, boutique brand Kross Studio has ɾєⱱєɑłєԀ its newest creation another very popular character from the DC universe. Behold the Kross Studio x Wonder Woman Tourbillon Watch, a complex and powerful timepiece that has been created in official collaboration with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products and DC. Unlike previous limited-production models, the Kross Studio’s newest offering is a custom-commissioned, one-of-a-kind timepiece that showcases the brand’s capability to create made-to-order custom designs for the most discerning watch collectors. In fact, Kross Studio had the push the limits of high watchmaking to overcome challenges faced during the development of this highly complex bespoke watch.
Much like Kross Studio’s previous timepieces, the Wonder Woman Tourbillon Watch features a familiar overall design and the brand’s intriguing central tourbillon manufacture movement. However, if you look closely, there are plenty of unique attributes attached to the watch. The brand had to develop an ultra-complex new casing process that required the watch’s dial and the movement – a first for Kross Studio. It had to come up with a new version of the caliber KS’7000 to support the new integrated dial. You’ll notice that the dial and the movement follow the curve of the sapphire crystal across its entire diameter. Additionally, the central tourbillon cage is not topped with a decorative element. Instead, the iconic Wonder Woman emblem has been placed on the dial right above the tourbillion cage as an integral part of it.
The new bespoke timepiece also presents a unique method of reading the hours and minutes. Wonder Woman’s sword represents the hour hand and is attached to the peripheral display mechanism that revolves around the central tourbillion. The shield placed at the center of the watch has an aperture on top that reveals a disc displaying the minutes over a range of 15 minutes. The tiara’s pointy єɴԀ marks the minutes on that disc. The dial also features Wonder Woman’s famous lasso that circles around the tourbillon.
Lastly, the hour markers on the flange are arranged in the shape of stars. The hand-wound mechanical caliber offers an impressive 5-day power reserve. The watch comes with three easily interchangeable straps: a blue calf leather strap, a red alligator strap, and the third strap in anthracite grey goat leather. Sadly, Kross Studio has not ɾєⱱєɑłєԀ the pricing of this one-off creation.
