Back in 2019,Hublotintroduced an innovative limited-edition timepiece called the Big Bang MP-11 SAXEM. The highlight of the watch was its emerald green translucent case made of SAXEM – a material that has been borrowed from space technology and was originally developed to be used in satellites. Three years later, the watch brand has introduced another unique watch that uses the same cutting-edge material; but this time around, the timepiece is rєɴԀered in an intense fluorescent shade of acid yellow. Behold the Hublot Big Bang Tourbillon Automatic Yellow Neon SAXEM, a playful timepiece that is definitely not for those looking for mellow, understated designs. SAXEM stands for Sapphire Aluminium oXide and rare Earth Mineral and is created by mixing aluminum oxide (the basic component of sapphire) with rare-earth elements like thulium, holmium, and chromium.
The neon yellow case of the watch measures 44mm in diameter and is paired with a matching yellow rubber strap. The rest of the parts are made out of titanium, adding an eye-catching contrast to the watch, or transparent sapphire to create the illusion of floating in the air. Inside the case is the HUB6035 self-winding micro-rotor skeleton tourbillion, which Hublot has been using since 2021.
It offers a respectable power reserve of 72 hours. The entire movement is completely skeletonized, while bridges are made from sapphire to draw focus on the tourbillion that appears to be suspєɴԀed in mid-air. The watch has been priced at $210,000 and will be exclusively available as a limited edition of 50 pieces.
