Expected to sell for $1.6 million-$2.6 million, it’s the highest valued jewel ever offered in an online-only auction at Christie’s.
New York—Christie’s is dedicating its online-only summer jewelry auction to diamonds, and leading the way is a big heart shape.
“Jewels Online: Summer Sparkle,” held now thɾօυɢҺ Aug. 18, features a wide variety of colorless and fancy color diamonds, including pink, orange, green, brown, and yellow, some of which are being offered without reserve.
The highlight of the sale is a 24.45-carat D color, internally flawless, Type IIa heart-shaped diamond pєɴԀant that’s estimated to sell for between $1.6 million and $2.6 million, making it the highest valued jewel ever offered in an online-only auction at Christie’s.
Last year, a 28.86-carat D-color, emerald-cut, VVS1 Type IIa diamondset the record, garnering $2.1 million at Christie’s Jewels Online sale in June.
Its sale comes at a time when colorless diamonds have beentopping expectationsat auction.
Meanwhile, another expected top lot of the auction is “The Summer Sunrise,” a ring centered on a 9.83-carat VS1 fancy vivid orange-yellow diamond ($600,000-$800,000).
There is also a 6.29-carat D color internally flawless oval diamond ring estimated between $250,000 and $350,000, a 10.08-carat diamond emerald-cut diamond ring with tapered baguette-cut diamond accents that could garner $200,000-$300,000, and pear diamond earrings weighing 10.02 carats that could go in the range of $200,000-$300,000.
