Audemars Piguet’s Royal Oak Concept watches have been around for almost two decades; the first timepiece presented by the watchmaker back in 2002 to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Royal Oak. The Royal Oak Concept timepieces have always been a way forAudemars Piguetto showcase new innovations. For 2020, the watch brand has released a new iteration of the Royal Oak Concept FlyingTourbillonGMT. The first version came out in 2018, which itself was a mild refresh of the Royal Oak Concept GMT Tourbillon from 2013. The latest version of the watch wears a monochromatic grey look, giving it a subtle, muted appearance, as opposed to the previous version which combined a titanium case with a black ceramic bezel, a blacked-out dial/movement, and applied rose-gold accents.
The large 44mm case and the bezel both are made of sandblasted titanium, while the screw-down crown and the push-piece on the side of the case are made of ceramic finished in grey. As you can see in the pictures, the watch is also paired with a grey rubber strap. Inside the case is the manually-wound caliber 2954 movement which has a GMT function, flying tourbillon, and a really impressive 237-hours of power reserve. The 2020 Royal Oak Concept Flying Tourbillon GMT is limited to just 30 examples and is priced at $198,400 USD apiece. All the 30 pieces will be exclusively sold thɾօυɢҺ the Paris AP retailer Arije.
