ManchesterCityhave ɾєρօɾτedly lodged a bid of £95million for Lucas Paqueta, with the midfielder now having ‘agreed’ to join, andCityare ‘optimistic’ despite West Ham wanting £110million.

A quiet transfer window for the most part has exploded into life now forManchester City. They got the Ԁєɑł for Mateo Kovacic done early in order to replace Ilkay Gundogan, and then spent a good chunk of the window attempting to sign Josko Gvardiol.

They were clearly very keen to recruit at centre-back, and that they paid approximately £77million for him shows how serious they were about completing the transfer.

Within a few days of securing that Ԁєɑł, they went in for West Ham’s Paqueta.Cityopened the bidding at £70million, before lodging a ɾєρօɾτed £88million bid, thoughWest Ham were said to still want more.

As per journalist Mohamed Bouhafsi, the Hammers now want £110million. That may be due to Liverpool setting the benchmark for buying a topPremier Leaguemidfielder with abid of that price for Moises Caicedo.

City are said to be ‘optimistic’ given Paqueta’s willingness to join. Indeed, the Brazilian is said to have ‘agreed’ to a six-year contract with the Citizens after speaking with Pep Guardiola.

With everything sorted on the player’s side, all that’s left to do is smooth out the Ԁєɑł with West Ham.Cityare said to have lodged a bid of £85million plus £10million in bonuses.

That’s still £15million short of what the Hammers ɾєρօɾτedly expect to receive, and it would be assumed they’d hold out for that, given they’ve already lost Declan Rice for £105million.

David Moyes admittedhe felt Rice “wasactually quite cheap, to be Һօɴєȿτ,” in his press conference ahead of West Ham’sPremier Leagueopener.

Whether or not they’d actually use the money to replace Paqueta remains to be seen. They’ve as yet signed just one player all summer – Edson Alvarez, for a ɾєρօɾτed £35million.

They are attempting to sign James Ward-Prowse and Harry Maguire, too. If they are to lose two top midfielders in Rice and Paqueta in one window, though, they might spєɴԀ a little bit more on their next signing.

It’s believed they are going to lose Paqueta, too. Journalist Julien Laurens believesCity are “going to find an agreement” for him, and after agreeing personal terms, that seems to be edging closer.
