PSG have had their eyes on Dembele for quite some time now but really stepped up their pursuit of theBarcelonawinger over the last couple of weeks.
And, soon the Frenchman was won over and agreed to leave the Catalan giants for a move back to his homeland.
Dembele’s €50 million release clause expired on July 31, but before it did, PSG had sent a formal letter toBarcelonawhichensured that a ‘private’ clause was triggeredallowing the club to sign the forward for the same fee.
Dembele in Paris to sign his contract
Now, Dembele has flown fromBarcelonato Paris to sign his contract and finalise his transfer to PSG.
The Frenchman will be signing a five-year contract with the Ligue 1 champions, and will pocket wages worth around €12 million per season (net), which would be double the amount he made atBarça.
While Dembele will complete formalities from his side and take a step towards completing the PSG transfer, one aspect that remains to be ironed out is the division of the transfer fee.
As per the terms agreed between the player andBarçain the past, the Frenchman and his representative would pocket half the €50 million fee with the club keeping the rest.
