Fresh off a successful loan spell with Reims, Balogun has established himself as one of the most promising young strikers in European football. The USA international scored 21 league goals last term, leading other clubs to place the 22-year-old on their transfer wishlist.
Balogun has been widely ɾєρօɾτed to want regular first team football in the upcoming season, casting doubt over his Arsenal future. When asked if the striker would be part of his squad, managerMikel Arteta replied, “Well this is what he has been doing and that’s why we gave him the minutes that he deserves to show what he can do. He’s just staying here with us at the moment and we will see what happens.”
The forward is said to haveattracted interestfrom the likes of RB Leipzig, Marseille and AC Milan this summer – but it is the latter’s city rivals that are the latest to enter the race.
The journalist Fabrizio Romano has stated that Inter ρłɑɴ to start next week by asking for the ‘final conditions’ needed to bring Balogun to the San Siro.
Romano claims that Balogun is ‘open’ to a permanent move away from the Gunners, whilefootball.londonunderstands that Arsenal are willing to listen to offers. It has previously been claimed that Arsenal will demand £50million for Balogun and Romano adds that Inter are prepared to pay an ‘important fee’ in order to get their man.
