Real Madrid have already started their summer business even though the transfer window is yet to open. They have already Ԁєɑłt with four expiring contracts, announcing Bosman departures for Karim Benzema, Mariano Diaz, and Marco Asensio, while Nacho decided to renew.
With this out of the way, Madrid will turn their attention towards the other members of the squad who could potentially become free agents soon.
Luka Modric, for example, is ɾєρօɾτedly between an extension and a massive offer from Saudi Arabia. Toni Kroos’ renewal is tied up, but yet to be announced. However, there is little to no news about Dani Ceballos.
The Spaniard is yet to make a decision about the contract renewal handed to him byReal Madrid, as per a ɾєρօɾτ byAS. There are only 15 days remaining before his current contract expires.
Madrid’s midfield is quite congested already. Toni Kroos and Luka Modric commanded starting spots thɾօυɢҺ last season, with Aurelien Tchouameni and Eduardo Camavinga shuffling between the last position.
Kroos, too, was used as a defensive midfielder, at times, with Federico Valverde dropping as the third midfielder. Ceballos acted as the last option in midfield for Carlo Ancelotti, but did well whenever called upon.
Now, though, the situation has become even more complicated, with Jude Bellingham completing his €100 million move from Borussia Dortmund.
Maybe not immediately, but the Englishman is almost definitely expected to have one spot in the trident reserved for him as the season goes on, with the intention to phase out one or both of Modric and Kroos.
Ceballos understands that should he renew his contract, he will be behind Bellingham, Modric, Kroos, Valverde, and sometimes even Camavinga in the central midfield pecking order.
