After beating United on Saturday, City are one step closer to their ultimate goal – winning the proper treble.

But, we all know that so far the one and only team to complete that feat was United under Sir Alex Ferguson back in 1999.

“We’re all divided in our opinions of that. I said to Noel [Gallagher] the other day even if you guys [City] go on to win the trophy today and theChampions Leagueand they do do the treble, obviously that’s a special thing for any club to do.

“But there’s only one club that can ever win the first time – and we were that club. So in all Һօɴєȿτy, as a United fan, if these guys get to win the treble, that feeling as a player of lifting all three trophies and creating history, that was an amazing thing.”

Although winning the treble would be special for City, achieving that feat for the first time is always a unique and greater experience. So, Beckham is right here.

After failing to stop them in their tracks, United would be hoping that Inter Milan beat Pep Guardiola’s men in the Champions League final and now allow the inevitable to happen. The odds are stacked against the Italian team’s favour, but in a one-off game, anything can happen.

For United now, the season is over and it is time for reflection and ρłɑɴning ahead.Erik ten Haghas done an exceptional job so far and he deserves to get vehement backing in the transfer market.

If the Dutchman can bring the players he wants and close the glaring gaps in the squad, it will not be a surprise to see the Red Devils doing well next season.

We have seen promising situations in transfer markets turning sour for this club in the recent past. The focus must be on not repeating that. Another typical dodgy transfer window and the manager would feel deflated, such are the standards that are required to win the big trophies in modern football.
