Christie’s has debuted “The Fortune Pink,” an 18.18-carat pear-shaped fancy vivid pink diamond that will lead its Geneva Magnificent Jewels auction.

The stone is estimated to sell for between $25 million and $35 million.

To date, the largest vivid pink diamond sold at Christie’s has been the 18.96-carat Winston Pink Legacy, which sold to jeweler Harry Winstonfor $50.4 million in late 2018, setting a world record per-carat price—at $2.7 million per carat—for a pink diamond at auction.

Christie’s said The Fortune Pink is the largest pear-shaped fancy vivid pink diamond to be offered at auction.

The number 18 is considered lucky in Chinese culture, and with the stone’s auspicious weight, it is expected to garner plenty of interest from global collectors.

“After The Rock,a 228-carat diamondsold this May in Geneva, Christie’s is proud to present The Fortune Pink, the largest pear-shaped fancy vivid pink diamond offered for sale at auction. With its auspicious weight of 18.18 carats, this exceptional pink diamond of phenomenal color will certainly bring good fortune to its new owner,” said Christie’s International Head of Jewelry Rahul Kadakia.

The Fortune Pink will go on an international tour before the auction.

The Geneva Magnificent Jewels auction will be held on Nov. 8 at the Four Seasons Hotel des Bergues.

The debut of The Fortune Pink follows closely on Sotheby’s unveiling of the”Williamson Pink Star,”an 11-carat fancy vivid pink diamond expected to sell for upwards of $20 million in a single-lot auction next month.
