In the typical Richard Mille fashion, a very technical timepiece that pushes the boundaries of horological engineering has been ɾєⱱєɑłєԀ as a replacement that delivers a package where art meets technology. The brand new RM 72-01 Lifestyle in-house chronograph was introduced with the help of renowned composer Thomas Roussel, choreographer Benjamin Millepied, and the London Symphony Orchestra. The collaboration spawned an artistic campaign film named WITHIN which also included a bespoke song and dance routine to launch the special timepiece.
The new RM 72-01 Lifestyle in-house chronograph is a highly impressive creation by Richard Mille thanks to its innovative movement and a unique dial. Although the watchmaker continues with its signature curved tonneau case for the watch that measures 38.4mm x 47.3mm and is available in grade 5 titanium, 5N red gold, black ceramic, and white ceramic variants. The dial, on the other hand, has a unique interpretation of the skeletal Richard Mille layout. Instead of the traditional 3-6-9 o’clock format for the sub-dials, Richard Mille went with sub-dials at 1 o’clock, 5 o’clock, and 9 o’clock. The colored arrow tips and texts add an interesting contrast to the black dial with gold accents. Powering the watch is an all-new manufacture movement, the Caliber CRMC1 automatic flyback chronograph. Made from grade 5 titanium and the in-house movement features a mechanism patented by the brand. Additionally, it gets a shock-resistant free-sprung balance, a compact bidirectional platinum winding rotor, and a faster rotating mainspring barrel. The new RM 72-01 Lifestyle in-house chronograph is available now thɾօυɢҺ authorized Ԁєɑłers and carries a starting price-tag of $188,000.
