The second edition of the LVMH Watch Week has commenced today, and the year’s first watch show is taking place online like all other recent τɾɑԀє shows, thanks to the pandemic. For 2021,Hublothas ɾєⱱєɑłєԀ a new colorful version of itssapphire-cased Big Bang timepiece. Over the years, the watchmaker has mastered the art of creating intriguing transparent watches crafted out of sapphire crystal. After transparent, black, yellow, blue, and red, the Swiss watch brand has released a tangerine-colored sapphire watch that’s striking in its appearance, to say the least. Called the Big BangTourbillonAutomatic Orange Sapphire, the watch features an entirely new shade of orange that has been achieved with the use of titanium and chromium in a skillful manufacturing process. “In line with its winning spirit, Hublot has produced a new exceptional innovation by unveiling the world’s very first case in orange sapphire,” said Ricardo Guadaluope, Hublot’s CEO. “Our manufacture has also reaffirmed its watchmaking expertise by unveiling a new automatic tourbillon caliber, entirely designed and manufactured in-house, and on which the spectacular visible dial side architecture underscores the innovative design of the watch. The “Art of Fusion” in all its glory according to Hublot.”

Housed inside the 45mm translucent case is a new tourbillon movement, completely designed and produced by the brand. The self-winding manufacture MHUB6035 movement is equipped with ceramic ball bearings and the latest Hublot technical advances in its winding system. The new design of the movement also puts the micro-rotor on show, visible from the dial-side. The satin-finished and sandblasted elements of the movement blєɴԀ beautifully with the watch’s orange color to give it a very appealing aesthetic. Ticking at 3 Hz, it offers a 72-hour power reserve. The timepiece is paired with an orange rubber strap with a titanium deployment buckle clasp that completes its look. Only 50 examples of the watch will be made of the Big Bang Tourbillon Automatic Orange Sapphire, retailing at $169,000 apiece.
