Mikel Arteta has suggestedArsenalwill find internal solutions after summer signing Jurriën Timber suffered an ιɴjυɾу that could sideline him for the entire season.
The new arrival from Ajax played just half of his Premier League debut on Saturday as he suffered an ACL ιɴjυɾу, as confirmed by the club on Wednesday.
Speaking to ɾєρօɾτers on Thursday, Arteta admitted his disappointment.
“Huge blow,” theArsenalboss said. “Especially for him after just joining the club.
“We recruited him with clear intentions and what he was bringing to the team was evident.”
Asked about going back into the transfer market for replacement, Arteta was less committal.
“I’m more thinking about the resources in the team to do what we want to do. But it’s true he was giving us a lot on both sides.
“We are always open and we have to be open as well to the injuries but also to react to the market.”
Arsenal left-back Kieran Tierney has long been linked with an exit this summer but no move has come to fruition as yet and the door could now be open for the Scot to regain his place in the side.
Asked about the former Celtic’s man future after Tierney was left out of the squad that beat Nottingham Forest, Arteta was spiky.
“He played the final (Community Shield), no? A player that plays five days before in the final is part of the ρłɑɴs for sure.”
Tierney will hope to be included asArsenalvisit Crystal Palace on Monday night.
