“Liverpool did that and then all the players got old together at the same time. Everybody last season quite rightly said the team was too old. They got rid of the old ones and suddenly the team is really young and everyone is going ‘We’ve got too many young players’.
“They need to get that balance – in the midfield, I’m referring to.Liverpoolcan’t go wasting any time chasing players who aren’t going to go for them.
“The state of play is everybody knowsLiverpoolneed a defensive midfielder, Klopp said it,Liverpoolclearly admitted that by making these massive bids for these players. Everybody knows they’ve got the money to buy them so now the question is ‘What are you going to do?’
“It’s not on Klopp, it’s not on the owners. it’s on the recruitment team. They have to be able to go to Klopp and say ‘We can get you this player, this player or this player’ and he says ‘Okay, get that one.’
