It is clear that the club are in a hurry to incorporate a new goalkeeper at the earliest. ɾєρօɾτs last night stated that theMerengueshavealready opened talkswith Sevilla for the veteran shot-stopper.
No talks with Real Madrid
According to ɾєρօɾτs fromFabrizio Romano, however, Sevilla president Pep Castro has outright denied any such development.
“Real Madrid? There’s nothing so far, no talks for Bono. The reality is that we have no offers or knowledge of any team’s interest in him,”the club president said when asked about Bono’s possible departure.
Bono’s release clause withLos Nervionensesstands at a staggering €50 million. WithReal Madridrequiring a stand-in goalkeeper for just a season, spєɴԀing such a lavish amount for the 32-year-old is unwarranted.
Bono, however, has an agreement in place with Sevilla that would allow him to leave for a fee as low as €20 million this summer.
The Seville-based side haveplaced their opening demand at €30 millionbut will likely open the door for negotiation.
Far from the best audition
The 2023-24 campaign of La Liga began last night, and one of the most anticipated games of the night was Sevilla against Valencia.

Bono made just one save on the night and was sloppy with his distribution. If last night’s game was an audition of any sort, it is safe to say that the 32-year-old did not begin on the right foot.
