In what could be a big blow toReal Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe has informed the Ligue 1 side that he will not leave the team this summer and there is absolutely nothing that can change his mind, ɾєρօɾτsLe Parisien.
The Frenchman has already refused to extєɴԀ his contract which expires next year and has turned down several proposals to renew. It forced the club to try and sell him this summer, but he has made it clear that he will not leave now.
The ɾєρօɾτ adds that there will be no presentation in the Spanish capital this summer as the forward has decided to stay at PSG no matter what.
The World Cup winner made his intentions known to Nasser Al-Khelaïfi during a chat with the club president at the Poissy Campus on Tuesday.
Mbappe’s sacrifice
Mbappe deciding not to renew his Ԁєɑł with PSG has cost the player a lot. In fact, according to a ɾєρօɾτ fromLe Monde, the 24-year-old has sacrificed over €199.5 million after deciding not to activate his extension clause with the Ligue 1 team.
The outlet breaks down the aforementioned figure as,
€60 million signing bonus
€55 million loyalty bonus
€9.5 million extra bonus
€75 million salary
Quite recently,PSG made a second attemptto tie down the forward by once again approaching with an offer that included a guaranteed exit clause in the summer of 2024. As it turns out, though, the forward was quick to refute the Ԁєɑł.
Why is Mbappe doing this to PSG?
As ɾєρօɾτed by the French media, Mbappe feels betrayed by the team from the French capital. Last year when he renewed his Ԁєɑł, he was promised that there would be reinforcement coming in like Bernardo Silva and Robert Lewandowski.
But their inability to do business for any of the mentioned players made him feel betrayed. The Frenchman felt let down by PSG’s last year’s performances too as he believed the players are not capable to win the UEFA Champions League.
In June this year, he decided to have enough and informed the PSG delegates that he would not renew his Ԁєɑł beyond 2024.
Above all, he also said that he would see out his ongoing Ԁєɑł and would not leave the team this summer.
Following his request, the player was informed that if he does not renew, he would be deprived of playing time this season, which єɴԀs with Euro 2024 and the Paris Olympics. Interestingly enough, it appears the player is okay to do so.
