According to ɾєρօɾτs, West Ham United are in ‘advanced talks’ with Man Utd over Harry Maguire and the two clubs are now ‘close to an agreement’.

The Hammers have identified Maguire as one of their main summer targets and they have money to spєɴԀ after Declan Rice’s big-money move to Arsenal was completed.

David Moyes is under pressure at the moment as the West Ham boss has butted heads with the club’s hierarchy over their summer recruitment.

West Ham are yet to sign anyone ahead of the start of the 2023/24 campaign butthey are set to bring in former Chelsea target Edson Alvarez from Ajax.

They are also moving to sign Maguire and his Man Utd teammate Scott McTominay.West Ham ɾєρօɾτedly made a £60m double bid for the duo earlier this week but their rivals ɾєρօɾτedly want a fee closer to £80m to let them go.

It has also been indicated by Sky Sports that West Ham are closer to an agreement for Maguire rather than McTominay.

‘Discussions between West Ham and Man Utd will continue over Harry Maguire. A second bid of £30m for the England international is under consideration.

‘While United’s valuation of him Maguire is £40m, a compromise in the region of £35m could seal the transfer.’

The Red Devils are open to letting Maguire leave this summer after he slipped down the pecking order last season. Erik ten Hag often preferred to use Lisandro Martinez, Raphael Varane and even Luke Shaw over the England international at centre-back.

Maguire needs to leave to play regular football ahead of next year’s European Championships and West Ham look to be his most likely next destination.

Football Insiderare ɾєρօɾτing that ‘West Ham are now in advanced talks with Man Utd over signing Maguire as ‘the two clubs are now close to agreeing a fee close to £40million for the 30-year-old’. The ɾєρօɾτ adds.

‘It’s understood talks majorly moved forward on Tuesday afternoon with a starting fee of around £37m and Maguire is now much closer to the exit at United.

‘An original offer for the former United captain of £30m was turned down by the Red Devils hierarchy but negotiations have continued.

‘The wages of Maguire are very high but West Ham believe they can navigate that issue and convince the defєɴԀer to join.

‘The club are also in talks over signing Scott McTominay, but Maguire is by far the more advanced of the two Ԁєɑłs.’
